Rep. Celeste Maloy’s lead continues to shrink in congressional race. Colby Jenkins hopes it’ll get close enough for a recount
Veteran Utah political strategist Spencer Stokes, who is working as a consultant on Maloy’s campaign, said Jenkins’ hopes are probably misplaced.
“Clearly Washington County has a lot of votes and the votes are breaking at a higher percentage for Colby Jenkins. But we are seeing the latter votes are not breaking as much for Colby,” Stokes said.

Utah's newest U.S. senator Mike Lee picks chief of staff
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's newest U.S. senator has picked a prominent state lobbyist to serve as his chief of staff.
Republican Sen.-elect Mike Lee asked Spencer Stokes this past week to lead his Washington staff and coordinate his transition from candidate to senator.
"He has an encyclopedic knowledge of Utah politics," Lee said of Stokes. "He has a good strategic mind and I like him."
